Bacon is Not Dead, Despite the Overkill
Everyone says bacon is so last year, which is cute, since people have been passionate about bacon for millennia. If the trend should pass on, I shall not shed a tear, because it means more bacon available for my personal consumption. Here are a couple of my favorite bacon overdoses of late.

Bacon Fat Ginger Cookies
A few years ago, the New York Times ran an article with this recipe for traditional Swedish ginger cookies that utilize bacon fat in place of butter or shortening.

A good breakfast snack for the days when you start drinking early.

1 pound Medjool dates (about 30), pitted
1 pound bacon (about 15 slices), cut in half
30 Pecans (pieces work just as well as whole nuts though.)
